The Dairy Queen menu is probably still best known for its delicious soft serve frozen treats. Today, there are 1400 Dairy Queen locations in the United States and Canada, and there are a full 6400 locations around the world. Thus, Dairy Queen was born in Joliet, New Jersey, but it wouldn’t remain as a single store in a single state for long. With such a hugely successful dessert, it didn’t take long for McCullough and Noble to devote an entire new store to it. ![]() In the first two hours alone, Noble sold 1600 servings. They then convinced a friend, Sherb Noble, to sell it in his ice cream store. McCullough and his son invented a formula for soft serve ice cream. Overall, like I said, you can't not like the ice cream, this is just not a high quality dairy queen experience like many others. The very first Dairy Queen location opened in 1940 after J.F. The floors are always dirty in here too, just seems like it needs some tlc and some better employees. Then when we got our right blizzard all the toppings were on the top and the bottom of a small blizzard that is, was purely vanilla ice cream. ![]() When our order came out, it was the wrong blizzard, and we had to ask for the cone because they never gave it to us. We were here with a group of 12 people and were the first two to order, we got the blizzard of the month and a plain waffle cone, no ice cream. ![]() The people working are not really very friendly and are not fast at all, if there's more than 5 people in line expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes for a blizzard and hope they get it right. always slow, it seems like there's only ever 2 people working the whole place and during peak hours for ice cream at 8pm on a Friday night. Overall once you get the ice cream it's good, the ingredients are the same at every dairy queen, it's just everything else about this place. We love our ice cream when at the lake and we've been to all the places around.
